Pete Doherty has commissioned a marble sculpture of himself for his solo show at London's Albert Hall on July 12.
Photos of the Babyshambles frontman being plastered in, well, plaster for the statue's cast have appeared in today's (June 11) Sun.
The marble artwork, being created by his artist chum Nick Reynolds (son of Great Train Robber Bruce Reynolds), will show Doherty surrounded by strips of newspapers depicting his crucifix by the media.
Reynolds compared Doherty's treatment by the media to that of Paula Yates and Michael Hutchence.
He said: "I was quite pally with Michael Hutchence and Paula Yates and their love affair - like Pete and Kate's [Moss] - went a bit sour. The negative press put a downward spiral on them."
